FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – In light of the ongoing H1N1 reports of severe disease, Sacramento County’s Public Health Officer, Dr. Olivia Kasirye, is announcing an additional flu clinic.  Congressman Dr. Ami Bera is supporting this event. “It’s important for everyone in Sacramento County to know that it’s not too late to get a flu shot,” said Bera, a former Chief Medical Officer for Sacramento County. “This year’s flu season is the worst in recent memory, taking the lives of more than 24 of our neighbors and hospitalizing more than one hundred others who were otherwise young and healthy.  Getting a flu shot is the single best way to protect yourself from the flu, and I hope everyone who hasn’t had a chance to get theirs yet will take advantage of this opportunity to get a free vaccination.” This clinic will be free, open to all who attend, and the final Sacramento County flu clinic for the 2013/2014 flu season.
